Visiting Lyons Dam

As a child in the mid 60s, my family lived in Mountain View. Since that time, my father has owned property in Cedar Ridge and Twain Harte. I first saw the ditch along Cedar Ridge nearly 40 years ago. I've seen Sonora and Tuolumne County change a lot since then. Although I've lived in many places like New York, Florida, North Carolina, and Alaska, Tuolumne County has stayed in my heart. I'm proud to live and work here.

I have spent my entire professional life working towards improving the human condition, and now work with a physician in Sonora. During my career, I've helped develop techniques that enable premature infants to breathe. I have codeveloped and patented techniques to detect cancer mutations, discover the basis of genetic diseases, and detect the presence of dangerous pathogens. I have grown and studied bacteria and viruses in the laboratory. I have done research in radiation damage and DNA repair mechanisms, and I understand the risks of radioactive contamination.

I'm asking for your vote to allow me to help preserve and maintain the most important piece of public health infrastructure we have, our water supply. It is critical that we provide an adequate supply of clean pure water at low cost. We need to plan for emergencies, handle regulatory obligations, and properly budget future improvements in water treatment and storage capacity. My Biophysics degree and experience will enable me to work with TUD engineers, understand regulatory requirements, and represent the people of Tuolumne County served by T.U.D.
